The US Soccer Federation has decided to terminate the Development Academy Program for both the boys and girls programs due to finances.
As a result, MLS has announced that it will launch a new elite youth competition program taking over the Boys DA program and run it in a highly competitive manner similar to the USSDA. The MLS Academy Program will include the participation of the current Development Academy clubs, including Weston FC and the MLS youth academy teams.
We are excited about this development and are confident that this new partnership will set a new standard for elite youth play and continue fostering the path of development for our players as well as provide additional opportunities through the MLS.
Luis Mendoza, our Boys Technical Director, will be contacting teams in the near future as he receives more detailed information.
We will be sending out an announcement in the near future regarding the Girls DA Program and a new and successful pathway for the girls DA players.
