2020-21 Team of the Week – Week 10

Matthew keeps improving week over week. His communication and confidence are better with every game. He made several saves this past weekend to help his team to a 1-1 draw.

After some uncomfortable conversations, Jordan has started to train and perform to a level in line with the natural talent and abilities he possesses.Whilst LB may not be his preferred position, with the ability Jordan possess once he sets his mind to the task he can complete at many different positions. It is a invaluable attribute for a player to be so talented and versatile.

This weekend Jordan had one of his best games this season in a 1-0 victory vs Orlando City. Solid in 1v1’s defensively and key in many of the attacks that initiated on the left side.

His decision making was also very good, understanding when to play quick, when up hold the ball slightly longer, restart the build up or deliver probing passes forward.

Only the beginning for this player, still plenty of potential to unleash.

Play very good vs Orlando City. Playing simple and respecting his role as a central defender. Strong in the tackles and reading the game. Well done Andres!

Mathias has been a valuable player for the team as he brings aggressiveness and IQ playing Center back that has been consistent and getting better week after week. He was a crucial part to our Win this weekend both defensively and offensively by scoring an amazing volley from outside the box .

This past weekend Ab was a lockdown defender on both the right and left back positions. Always in the correct position to defend and to move forward and advance the play of the game and increase opportunities for the offensive attack. Super smart on and off the pitch. Ab continues to show that he is a player to keep notice of.

Simon was the best player on the field in Saturday’s game. He instantly made an impact on the game by getting up the left side of the field from a deep position and finishing on goal. He was able to get the ball forward, consistently providing an outlet for us on the left side. He also played excellent defense neutralizing the other team’s best players. Simon always plays with a lot of heart and toughness!

Gabriel has been showing great soccer lately, the soccer he had shown last season, with great skills, technique, and precise decision making. Gabriel’s changed tremendously this season at the moment he started to believe in his own potential, reading the game, timing it accurately, changing the speed, and switching the game looking for spaces and penetration. Great future ahead. Well deserved nomination.

Juan continues to impress. This time playing as the Central Midfielder he showed his full game. Over the 3 games Juan displayed precision playmaking along with defensive prowess that showed both sides of his game. Week in and week out Tatan continues to develop into a super strong center back and midfielder and understands fully what he must do to get to the next level.

Aaron has been playing extremely well in the past few games. He has shown great ability to take on defenders with confidence and explosiveness speed with the ball. He has been very consistent every other weekend as being the lead scorer on the team. Keep up the great work Aaron! ??????????⚽️

In such a sad moment Juan shows his passion for the game, care to others, and happiness just like someone we know very well. Scoring two goals and celebrating in honor of an Angel who for sure was watching the game.

Miguel is another player that continues to impress and develop. A natural right back Miguel has moved into a right mid position to assist the team. His speed and strength on the ball are a welcome addition to this already strong and talented team that many haven’t witnessed playing just yet. Miguel always plays with passion and confidence and his desire to be the best was very evident this past weekend.
