2016-17 Welcome Message

Steve Ziegler’s Welcome Message for the 2016-17 Season

steve ziegler new 400 x 600I want to welcome everyone to the 2016-2017 season! We have many exciting changes planned that we hope will enhance the experience for all players and families. To begin, we are very proud that our girls program has been accepted into the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) and the US Developmental Academy. We will begin playing in ECNL this season and the Girls DA next season. There are only a few clubs in the US that have been accepted into both the ECNL and the Girls and Boys Developmental Academy. This is a true testament to the incredible ability of our players, the experience, dedication, and knowledge of our technical staff, and the amazing support of our administrative staff.
We are very proud of our partnership with the Davie Sharks’ Girls program which is off to a great start. We have combined some of the top Davie coaches and players with our program thereby providing a top level environment for all the girls. We are also very appreciative that the partnership extends to field allocations which helps us greatly with the wear and tear on our fields and also serves to strengthen our partnership with the Sharks.
With regard to the fitness program, we have changed the fitness program so that the boys’ and girls’ programs can focus on their individual needs. We welcome Ultimate Sports Institute (USI) of Weston and BB3 Training Center at Bonaventure Hotel to the girls’ program and welcome back our nationally renown Sports Science Program to the boys’ curriculum. We believe that through these relationships, our fitness and conditioning programs will be among the best in the country.
As to field space, we will soon announce the resurrection of our church field at Mission Vida Church located on Griffin Road just east of Bonaventure Blvd. As many of you know, we have used these fields for over 10 years, up until a few years ago. Weston FC will be constructing an 11 x 11 field along with smaller fields inside the big field. We will also have training areas outside of the field. We hope to begin trainings and games at the Church in early October and run our first Winter Camp at Mission Vida this December.
The Weston Cup will be here before we know it. We are planning to expand the Weston Cup again this year to be over 700 teams! The Cup is already one of the largest and most prestigious tournaments in the country and the continued success of the Cup is crucial for the Club to fund all of our programs.
Sponsors are an equally crucial component to our program. The Club is very pleased to welcome a new sponsor, Bonaventure Hotel and Spa, as one of our premier sponsors. Bonaventure is supporting the club in many ways, including hosting our club meetings. Bonaventure will also be hosting our first golf tournament on October 20th. Please support the golf tournament and support the great restaurants, spa, accommodations, and gym facilities at Bonaventure as their support for the Club is truly significant and much appreciated.
We also welcome back our premier sponsor, Cleveland Clinic, who supports the club in a variety of ways including providing trainers at practices and Academy games and conducting seminars on injury prevention to our coaching staff, although for other injuries caused by accidents, the use of legal aid  from sites like https://www.cosselawfirm.com/auto-accident/ that specialize in this.
We will be announcing more exciting enhancements as the season progresses. On behalf of the volunteer Board of Directors, I want to thank all of our families for entrusting their kids to Weston FC.  We promise to continue doing everything in our power to provide them with the best soccer environment possible and adhere to our motto of Integrity, Dedication, Success.  A special thanks to all of our Team Managers who volunteer so much time to the kids and without whom we could not be successful.
If anyone has any questions, comments, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely in Soccer,
Steve Ziegler,
President, Weston FC
